Secondary School Curriculum (Classes IX–X)
The Secondary School Curriculum at our institution is designed in accordance with the latest CBSE guidelines, ensuring a seamless blend of academic excellence, skill development, and value-based education. It focuses on promoting competency-based learning, where students acquire knowledge through understanding, application, and experiential engagement rather than rote memorisation.
Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is designed to cultivate inquisitive thinkers, sharp analysts, empathetic citizens, and responsible contributors. It offers a broad and balanced programme encompassing:
• Languages (Group L): English and Hindi or any other language prescribed by CBSE, enhancing communication and multilingual skills.
• Core Subjects (Group A1): Mathematics, Science, and Social Science, with emphasis on conceptual clarity, hands-on experimentation, and real-life application.
• Elective/Skill Subjects (Group A2): Options such as Computer Applications, Home Science, Painting, Music, and Artificial Intelligence provide students with exposure to vocational and creative domains.
• Co-Scholastic Areas: Art Education, Health & Physical Education, and Work Education help in nurturing physical fitness, creativity, and social responsibility.
Learning is further enriched through projects, case studies, laboratory activities, field visits, group discussions, and ICT-enabled learning. These experiential opportunities build critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills, aligning with CBSE’s emphasis on 21st century competencies.
Our students are also encouraged to participate in a range of academic and co-curricular events such as the CBSE Science Exhibition, District Science Congress, Olympiads, and British Council’s International Projects, which foster global awareness and innovation.
Assessment Policy
The school follows CBSE’s competency-based assessment structure, which provides a comprehensive and continuous evaluation of students’ progress throughout the academic session.
The academic year is divided into two terms, with assessment covering both Scholastic and Co-Scholastic areas.
Scholastic Assessment
• Periodic Tests and Multiple Assessments evaluate conceptual understanding and application of knowledge.
• Portfolio Assessment encourages students to showcase their progress, creativity, and reflective learning.
• Subject Enrichment Activities provide experiential learning opportunities through model making, presentations, and practical exercises.
• Term-End Examinations assess overall comprehension, analytical skills, and critical thinking.
Co-Scholastic Assessment
Equal importance is given to non-academic domains such as:
• Art Education
• Health & Physical Education
• Work Experience and Value Education
Students are assessed on parameters like participation, teamwork, discipline, creativity, leadership, and empathy to ensure all-round growth.
Feedback and Remediation
Assessment outcomes serve as a diagnostic tool to identify strengths and areas for improvement. Remedial classes and enrichment sessions are organised to bridge learning gaps and extend learning for advanced students. Constructive feedback helps students reflect, improve, and take ownership of their learning journey.
Our Focus
Through a well-planned and thoughtfully executed curriculum, we endeavour to prepare every student for the challenges of higher education and real-life situations, instilling in them the curiosity to explore, the courage to question, and the commitment to contribute meaningfully to society.
